Remediation of Damaged Groundwater Resources

This claim is related to the detection, analysis and taking the necessary actions to remove contamination from the reservoirs of fresh water in Kuwait in Al - Raudhatin and Umm Al-Aish, resulting from leakage from damaged oil wells and seawater used to combat oil fires. In addition, since 1991, oil recovery pits, contaminated valleys and oil lakes have contributed to polluting these reservoirs. This claim includes the following projects:

 

1.   Monitoring for five years.

2.   Development of Mathematical Model.

3.   Drilling of 18 new observation wells.

4.   Pilot Studies for Remediation of Groundwater for two years.

5.   Full scale Remediation of contaminated groundwater (around 15 million m3) for 15 years.
